Family mini photo session information
Tell me about the photo session
So you are all booked in for your Family Mini Session, great! These mini sessions are a fantastic option to have a beautiful fine art portrait of your loved ones created for you to enjoy forever. We always say 'we must get a family photo taken' or we see friend's professional photos of their children and think, yes we really must get around to doing that. So now you have your chance! Mini sessions are relaxed, fun and aim to capture your family and children's personality and connection with eachother.
The photo session takes place in my studio at my home in Greytown. I usually create these fine art portraits in black and white, however if you would prefer to have them in colour, please let me know on the day. I use a dark grey backdrop that looks fantastic for both black and white and colour photos.
What should we wear
I am all about individuality especially for childrens individual portraits - if you child loves Batman or is all about Elsa from Frozen or perhaps can't part with a favourite toy or rugby ball and that is how you would love them photographed, then bring along the costumes and props!
For family photos if you a wanting a more cohesive look, then try to choose a few colours for a couple of your family members to wear - this doesn't mean you have to be all in denim with white shirts (although you can do this too), but try to perhaps have say one child with navy blue pants and the Mum to have a top that might have some navy blue in it. It might be floral, but just having a few similar tones does wonders. Check out these photos of the Didsbury family I recently photographed to get an idea of what I mean. Alternatively, having all black tops for example can look great for a black and white photo (second photo).
Try to stay away from very bright colours and big spots and stripes - they can take away the focus from your lovely faces!
Where do I find you
Please arrive 10 minutes before your session starts.
My address is:
48 Kemptons Line
Head south out of Greytown and take Bidwells Cutting Road towards Martinborough. We are the first road on your left just past the old Dairy Factory by Kuranui College. We are an old two storey house approximately 500 metres down Kemptons Line on you right.
What happens after my photo session?
You will receive an email from me with a private gallery to view your photos within 2 weeks of your photo session. Your gallery will be open for 5 days from the date I send it to you for you to choose your 2 high resolution digital photos included in the session fee. Included in your gallery will be a link for you to purchase additional digital files, fine art prints and framed prints and canvases.
How much could I expect to pay for prints, framed prints and canvas products?
I am all about prints! There is just something so timeless about having a beautiful fine art print on your wall of your family. It will be there forever there to keep. No amount of technology will ever take it away. Remember when we saved our photos and data on floppy disks - who knows where we'll be in another 10 years - print lasts forever.
Your package includes 2 high resolution digital files which are print ready. The investment in high quality professional prints I believe is worth every cent and fits within your budget. The colour palette is bang on and the ink and paper are all made to last. Be wary of some cheaper alternatives. Plenty of clients have returned after being disappointed with cheap online prints. I guess it is the age old 'you get what you pay for' when it comes to beautiful fine art prints.
Fine art prints are printed on professional Ilford GALLERIE Smooth Pearl 310gsm paper.
Loose fine art prints range from $69 for an A4 up to $219 for an A2
Framed prints and canvases range from $149 for an A4 to $329 for an A2.
Custom shapes (i.e square or collages), prints and canvas products larger than A2 will be quoted separately.
Can I use my digital files on social media - I'd love to share them with the world
Yes absolutely you can! Share away! Any digital files you either receive as part of your session package or purchase as additional, you are welcome to share on social media.
